[comp.dcom.lans] CCITT & DDN Protocol Definitions

a1059@mindlink.UUCP (Tim Roy) (07/12/90)

Can anyone tell me where I can get the following documents from? I
have been told that they might be availible in electronic form.

1-CCITT Recomendation X.25 "Interface between data terminal equipment
(DTE) and data circuit-terminating equipment (DCE) for terminals operating in
the packet mode and connected to public data networks by dedicated circuit"

2-CCITT Recomendation X.214 "Transport Service Definition for Open
Systems Interconnection (OSI) for CCITT Applications"

3-DDN RFC 793 "Transmission Protocol Protocol"

        4-DDN Protocol Handbook

5-DDN Protocol Implementations and Vendors Guide

Any help is appreciated, and thank you to those who responded to my previous
postings!!

Tim Roy

Based upon the responses to similar questions in comp.protocols.iso,
it seems that (1) and (2) are unavailable in electronic form, only on
paper. Far better to kill trees than to have a convenient, portable,
grep(1)able document. :-(

	   1-CCITT Recomendation X.25
	   2-CCITT Recomendation X.214

We buy these from Omnicom, 115 Park St. SE, Vienna VA 22814 USA,
+1(703)281-1135.

3-DDN RFC 793 "Transmission Protocol Protocol"

You can get all the RFCs via anonymous FTP from nic.ddn.mil or via
anonymous UUCP from uunet or osu-cis or (as a last resort only!) from
the mail server at nic.ddn.mil. Of particular interest to browsers is
rfc-index.txt.

	   4-DDN Protocol Handbook

I'm pretty sure this is nothing but a collection of RFCs.

5-DDN Protocol Implementations and Vendors Guide

From nic.ddn.mil, get netinfo:vendors-guide.doc.
