Can someone tell me what the performance issues on the difference between external bridges and internal (fileserver) bridges. How much memory do we need for routing packets in a external bridge? And how about an internal bridge? What type (speed) of machine is needed? Will a 10 MHz 286 clone be enough? 16 MHz 386SX? And how about a 25 MHZ 386 clone? What is the external/internal bridge performance? How many packets can it handle on certain machine? When will it overflow? And how often do the bridges broadcast bridging information? (How long does it take for a system to recover from a bridge failure?) -- Mike
