Can someone tell me where I can find an ethernet test device that can transmit packets out one ethernet interface and receive them on a second interface and tell me the delay involved in getting to the second interface. We need such a device to measure the delay through multiple twisted pair concentrators. It would also be nice if such a device could also load ethernet to it's maximum capacity. Check out a unit called EXPERDATA. Does 100% Ethernet load testing and may also do the delay measurement your wanting. Look on page 51 in the August issue of LAN Technology for their ad. EXPERDATA 10301 Toledo Avenue South Bloomington, MN 55437 (612)831-2122 Fax (612)835-0700 Ad say tests and identifies malfunctioning network interface cards, MAU's, hubs, concentrators during installation and while the network is operating. Also test Token RIng LANs.
