[comp.dcom.lans] Unix <-> Netware

liberty@sagepub.UUCP (Jesse Llberty) (08/18/90)

In a previous article I asked about exchanging mail between
Novell Netware and Unix mail. Many have written asking that
I let them know what I've learned, and some offering assistance.

I will follow up with a full summary after all the information is
in, but here are the two most promising leads, to date:

1. One can run portable netware on top of Interactive Unix, on a 386,
which will facilitate accessing the unix machine directly. This, for us
was a sub-optimal solution.

2. CC Mail claims they have a uucp interface, which with the purchase
of ccmail, their I/O package and their UUCP package reportedly makes
exchanging Unix mail and CC Mail a snap! They have two versions, one of
which works over async. lines. I'll report back when we know more.

Thanks again for all the help. -j
