Anyone got a solution for this problem I came across with Novell ELS Level 2, version 2.12? The network was running with a 286 machine as a non-dedicated file server. Some DOS environment stuff (PATH, COMSPEC etc.) were set during boot up from floppy. When the COMSPEC was reset to point to the network drive in the system login script, it corrupted the environment area. However, when the command was removed from the system login script and the COMSPEC variable was reset manually from the keyboard after logging in, no corruption occurred. This problem only occurred when logging in on the fileserver; the workstations were unaffected. Originally, the system was fitted with a 75 Mbyte MFM hard drive. The problem only surfaced when it was replaced with a 300 Mbyte ESDI drive running DISKMANAGER-N. The manufacturers of the hard drive and the publishers of DISKMANAGER-N couldn't offer a solution. Thanks in anticipation. David Hichens -------------
