I need to optically isolate 64 async ports from their terminals. I am looking at (1) using fiber optic terminal multiplexers or (2) going with terminal servers and fiber optic ethernet. My questions are: Can anyone recommend reliable fiber optic multiplexers and/or terminal servers? Has anyone used any of the Black Box fiber optic equipment? Is anyone using the Annex II (Xylogic) terminal servers (under any name)? Ethernet seems to be more expensive but it should make it easier for me to add another host system to the net.
