I've been trying to run NCSA Telnet in a DOS window under Microsoft Windows 3.0. It seems to run fine as long as I do not try to run any other DOS application in another DOS window at the same time. If I try this, eventually Telnet hangs. I can run other combinations of DOS apps in separate windows with no problems. The combination I'm particularly interested in is Telnet in one window (with sessions open to various UNIX systems) and a PC-based editor in another window. I have the program information files (PIFs) set as follows: for Telnet: allow to run in background do not detect idle time (I've also tried w/ idle time detection) for editor: do not allow to run in background detect idle time My system configuration: 16 MHz 386 w/ 4 MB RAM EGA monitor running Windows 3.0 in enhanced mode with a swapfile Can anyone: 1. explain this behavior 2. suggest a possible solution Thanks in advance for any help.
