A friend of mine is looking for an up-to-date listing of the Ethernet vendor hardware addresses. Can this be found somewhere on the net? He needs it in an editable file, not hardcopy. Please cc: replies to matt@orthanc.sbi.com (Matt Gutherz). The IEEE address registry considers the list confidential, presumably to protect the identities of companies that have requested addresses but not yet announced products using them. Lists compiled by observation do exist, but it is important to realize that by their nature, they are neither complete nor entirely reliable. -- TCP/IP: handling tomorrow's loads today| Henry Spencer at U of Toronto Zoology OSI: handling yesterday's loads someday| henry@zoo.toronto.edu utzoo!henry
