[comp.dcom.lans] Using OnFile with Novell Access Server

hirayama@sumax.UUCP (Pat Hirayama) (09/27/90)

Hi there.

I've been having difficulties in using the ONFILE program supplied
by Novell for file transfers using an Access Server.

Whenever I try to transfer files between the host and the remote
PC (in either direction), the file transfers always time out. The
Access Server has Telebit Trailblazer Plus modems, and the remote
PCs are using either Hayes Smartmodem 2400, SupraModem 2400, or
Telebit Trailblazer/PC modems. The PCs in question are an IBM PS/2
Model 60, a Compaq Deskpro 386s, and a Uniq 386/20. The software is
OnLAN/PC. Oh, and if it makes any difference, the server is running
Netware 2.15C.

The really odd thing is that when I connect the SupraModem 2400 to a
Macintosh Plus running OnLAN/Mac, the file transfers work like a
charm.

Any suggestions or ideas would be most appreciated. Thanks!

                                        Pat
