Hi, I would like to find out if there is a Info-Server on the network so that I can get ISO OSI standard documents. I am used to the TCP/IP Request For Comment (RFC) documents and I would like to get some services like that for OSI stuff. -- Mike

Unfortunately, the ISO does not provide publicly accessible versions of its documents on line. You have to purchase paper copies from the agency in your country which has been licensed to offer them. In the US this is Omnicom, Inc, which I believe is in Vienna, Virginia. I'd dig up their info but ny office is in boxes awaiting new carpeting . . . Their policy does rather beg the question of what "Open" means, doesn't it? The documents, in addition to being difficult to obtain, are also surprisingly expensive, on the order of $20 for a 50-page spec. - RL "Bob" Morgan Networking Systems Stanford

The price is approximately $300 per inch.... The fault is ANSII, not OMNICOM, as OMNICOM's entire set of '84 standards was a pretty reasonable $400... OMNICOM 115 Park Street, S.E. Vienna, VA. 22180-4607 1-800-OMNICOM They also have videotape training courses and seminars scattered around the country...
