One of my coworkers wants information about how best to tie just 2 PCs together. The idea is to purchase aone copy of an expensive statistics pkg. is copy would reside on a PC upstairs. Only the terminal upstairs or my friend downstairs would use it at one time. If he's using it downstairs, it would have to be as a background process; the upstairs PC would have to be able to be used at the same time for other programs. One machine is a 386 DOS machine. The upstairs machine is to be purchased. The only requirement is that it be a 386 or better. He is hoping to configure the new machine to have all the features needed to accomplish the desired results. Is there a way to do this without a 3rd machine networked to these 2 machines? They hope to use Teltone (a voice over data product which use the pbx system and phone lines) or modems. Would it be possible using OS2, WIndows, Unix, or not at all. Any advice or informations you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot, Connie
