Does anyone have any utilities for properly adding a bad block to a DEC standard 144 bad block table. Currently when a new bad block is found it can not be simply added because the order of the entries in the table determines the location of the replacement sectors and the bad-block table must be sorted. One solution would be to have the disk driver check the whole table when looking for bad blocks. The other would be a utility which reorders the table correctly. Comments? I will summarize to the net in a couple of weeks. -- //Z\\ James M. Ziobro Ziobro.Henr@Xerox.COM {rochester, amd, sunybcs, allegra}!rocksvax!z
