Hi, fellow Novell Network Administrators ... I'm looking for a program will sit and monitor the ARCnet portion of a network that I maintain. Basically, I just need this program to give me a list of all station IDs and (if possible) the name of the user logged in on that station. I need the program to monitor the network continuously (ie. once every minute) and maintain the list for me. Programs such as Netware Care and Thomas Conrad's TXD don't quite do the trick, since they only read the network once; and not everybody is logged in or have their computers turned on all the time. What I need is something that will at least tell me what station IDs are in use. Currently, I have over 200 nodes and the previous network manager forgot to maintain a detailed list of station IDs (we do have a partial list, thou -- thank goodness). Everytime I place a new station on, I have to play a nice guessing game to get a node address. Any suggestions and utilities are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. __________ ___ / \ / / /_/ / /\/ _/ / / / __/. /__ / / / / / / / / "Happy Computing ..." / / Internet: Johnny.J.Chin@andrew.cmu.edu / ------- / 4730 Centre Ave. #412 BITnet: jc58@andrew \__________/ Pittsburgh, PA 15213 UUCP: ...!uunet!andrew.cmu.edu!jc58 Computer Dr. Carnegie Mellon University "If you don't like having backups ... try driving without your spare tire." ______________________________________________________________________________ Disclaimer: The views expressed herein are STRICTLY my own, and not CMU's.
