Hi We are using Netware V3.1 on an ethernet. At the moment we have all our workstations using ver 6 Clarkson packet drivers and BYU IPX. There are a couple of things that I am not sure about in this regard. 1. There has been some mention that the ver7 packet drivers are able to use 802.3 frame formats to communicate with the server. If this is correct, what changes have been made to resolve the problem caused by the IPX checksum field? 2. Our local supplier sent us Boot PROMS. I assume that they won't work because we are using Ethernet-II frame formats (they can't find the server to get the boot image). If 802.3 format is possible with Ver7 packet drivers, then I could try again once we have those. Otherwise, do I have to get boot Proms especially for Ethernet-II frame formats? Any comments, suggestions? -- Tim Bouwer Internet: Tim.Bouwer@f4.n494.z5.fidonet.org Rhodes University Uucp : ...!m2xenix!quagga!cctb South Africa Uninet : cctb@rures
