As anyone ever tried to use IBM's Personal Communications/3270 emulation software in conjunction with Netware's IPX and Netx programs. Everytime I try and run the 3270 emulator after having loaded ipx and net3 the entire system locks up. I have even tried loading the ipx and net3 shell into high memory using QEMM, but the results are the same --LOCKED UP. I would appreciate any help and ideas you may have. IBM's SDLC board uses two hardware interrupts, IRQs 3 & 4 (from memory - maybe 2 & 3). You may have a conflict with interupt lines between the SDLC board and your LAN card. The coax board uses shared RAM, your LAN card may too. Check to see if there is a RAM conflict. Finally, if you are running over the LAN to an SNA gateway, upgrade to Novell's latest release of NetBIOS (3.01 or later). Novell NetBIOS is extremely bug ridden, but the 3.01 release is relatively robust. I know that the IBM 3270 emulation program can be run on Novell LANs, so the most likely cause of your problems are either IRQ or memory conflict. Jon j_rodin@cnd.hp.com
