I just was handed a demo for a package called TotalNET from SYNTAX in Auburn WA. It seems to offer DOS to Unix networking through a number of protocol paths using PC/TCP and packet drivers. It claims to work with LAN Manager, Novell, Netbios and some other things. It seems to claim to allow you to run a server package under Unix or VMS and then have a TotalNET SMBclient Server offer Unix services to SMB/Novell PC Clients. If it works, it sound interesting. Does anyone use this stuff? I am going to check it out, but any first hand comments or complaints are welcome. If you would like to hear about the results of my quest, email me and I'll send you a copy of my notes. -- Thomas M.
