I am going to set up about 10 PC's on a TCP/IP Ethernet LAN. They are supposed to use a SCO-UNIX box for file-server and printer-server. The PC's will be equipped with some LAN-boards and some TCP/IP based software. The software is the problem: I don't know whats available, and what vendors are relevant. I am currently trying out a PC-NFS 3.0.1 but am not quite satisfied: 1. Is it possible to obtain other telnets for it ? Like, with multiple sessions, more confortable "terminal" programming and the lot. 2. Does there exist a dev.pac. to help writing application that utilises the lan interface (sort of like the unix socket library). (I shudder at the thought of writing raw ethernet access in assembler). This would really be a darling, if accompanied by telnet sorcecode. 3. Can I automate the initialisation more? Now I have to write my name and passwd each time I start the machine up, i'd like to put that in a startup file instead (Safety? aw come on....). If you could help me out on these, or point me at another implementation, that can answer "yes" to some of the wishes, I'd really appreciate it. - Thanks, Ole. -- - Ole. (nomann@diku.dk).
