A colleague worked in a group that had about 15 286 computers networked to a DEC MicroVax using PCSA. The cabling was all thin ethernet to DEC DEPCA cards. For a variety of reasons (it's a long story) the MicroVax has been sold BUT the cabling, PC's and cards are still there. Can these adaptors be used in peer-to-peer DOS lans? multitasking lans? UNIX lans (they have just bought a Sun workstation)? As is obvious from this posting I have very little knowledge in this area. My understanding is that they want to link the PC's together for printer and file sharing but would also like to access the Sun. Any and all suggestions would be most welcome, and yes, money IS an object :-) Thanx in advance - Jim Jim Gerlach - Cancer Research Laboratories James.H.Gerlach@QueensU.CA Queen's University GERLACHJ@QUCDN.QueensU.CA (NetNorth/BITNET) Room 358, Botterell Hall tel (613) 545-6446 Kingston, Ontario fax (613) 544-9708 CANADA K7L 3N6

I've got a student working on a packet driver for the DEPCA right now.
Ask Brian Fisher (fisherb@qucdn.queensu.ca) about what you can do with
a packet driver...
