Here some questions about Lantastic that someone asked me via mail.
I thought that their answers would do some good here also.

Cost:
Lantastic costs $489.00 for the initial startup kit. The kit
includes two AE-2 10MBit Network cards which are compatible
with the novell's cards along with a 999 person site license for
the network software. Additional cards cost from $239 to $260
    per node.

Varitey of boards:
Lantastic sells a 2Mbit and a 10mBit (Ethernet) board. Although
lantastic uses an adapter independant Netbios interface, the
2mbit and 10mbit are the only ones sold by artisoft.

How many nodes:
I am not quite sure on this one, but I have found that all the
Thin Ethernet (RG58) restrictions apply. (I.E. line length and
network load). Try calling the lantastic support line at
    (602)293-6363.

Security:
Security is very good on lantastic, although most installations
may choose to be quite liberal on their use of security.
    LAntastic security option include:
          Login's scrutinized by:
	      Time of day
              Day of week
          Password renewal schedules
Full audit trails on all aspects of the network
Restriction to subdirectories, disks, or files

Good luck!

P.S. I really think this should go back to the news group but
I am not quite sure how to get it there from mail. Maybe
     you'll have some ideas.

Happy Netting
