Does anyone have any details available on communications servers for OS/2 Lan Manager and DOS Lan Manager? I know there is one from IBM and one from DCA? Any details available? Ie what do they support etc. Does anyone have a gateway which will provide incoming connections and outgoing connections? Ie the incoming connections will be emulating a netbios connection over the serial line and "connect" the person out in the field directly to the lan, as well as outgoing communications to things like Compuserve etc.

If you're looking for incoming serial connections to the LAN, IBM has RNAF (Remote Network Access Facility) which lets a remote user logon to the LAN just like a local user - but slower. We're getting a copy next week, so I don't know any specifics yet. Barry Pederson InterNet: ud092096@vm1.nodak.edu BitNet: ud092096@ndsuvm1 BIX: barryp

I just got the RNAF and it really stands for Remote NETBIOS Access Facility. The box says: Provides remote access capability for IBM Personal Computers to an IBM Token-Ring Network or an IBM PC Network via switched telecommunications lines. This program can be configured to run on either a remote or a local area network-attached personal computer. Barry
