This is the FDDI analyzers summary that I promised to post a while ago. (Sorry, but you know how it is...things to see...people to do...) Well, all the votes are in, and it seems that there are only two vendors currently. They are: Digital Technology Inc. LANHAWK Products Division 2300 Edwin C. Moses Blvd. Dayton, Ohio 45408 (800) 852-1252 They have a product called the LANHAWK which is fairly basic and low priced. Tekelec 26580 W. Agoura Rd. Calabasas, CA 91302 (800) 835-3532 or (818) 880-5656 They are working on something called the Chamelan 100 which will eventually be a full-featured beast, with things like traffic generation and simulation. They are currently selling it with early-release software that doesn't have all of the features (existing customers will receive upgrades later). They also have about a 90-day lead time currently. Thanks to the following for responding to my inquiry: Don Pace, Florida State University Computing Center <pace@zeppo.cc.fsu.edu> Bob Hott, Naval Surface Warfare Center <rhott@relay.nswc.navy.mil> Iqbal A. Husain, BTR Public Access UNIX <btr!btr.com!ihusain@fernwood.mpk.ca.us> Bob O'Hara, Advanced Micro Devices <ohara@brahms.AMD.COM> Phil Green, Syracuse University <pmgreen@rodan.acs.syr.edu> -- David Cornutt, New Technology Inc., Huntsville, AL (205) 461-6457 (cornutt@freedom.msfc.nasa.gov; some insane route applies) "The opinions expressed herein are not necessarily those of my employer, not necessarily mine, and probably not necessary."
