We have a VISTA communications server set up between our LAT terminal servers and various UNIX boxes on Ethernet TCP/IP. The guys in charge of it have been looking into problems with it for quite a while now with no results, I thought perhaps someone else may have "passed this way before". One problem is that a number of control keys are not being passed on by the VISA box, CTRL-U as an example (they say they have it configured to pass everything through). Another problem is that at the UNIX shell prompt with @ set up as the kill character, CTRL-H as the backspace, and DEL as the interrupt, if you type say "aaaaaa", hit backspace then RETURN you don't get an error. This obviously means that some how the whole line was zapped (no I don't have a command called aaaaa ;-). I can't believe problems like this exist in an established product. It must be how our guys have set it up, right ?
