Hello, This may have been asked before (I haven't been reading this group for too long), so please forgive me if it has. We've had a small network running TCP/IP with Western Digital StarCards for some time over unshielded twisted pair. (We use Clarkson's packet drivers, and then NCSA telnet and ftp, UBC's LPR, KA9Q or NOS, and also things like Univ. of Minnesota's POPmail.) While in the long term we will be switching over to 10BaseT, we would like to expand the Starlan network a bit more for now. The problem is that when we called up to order more cards we found out that Western Digital no longer makes them, and their technical support said that they know of nothing compatible. Is there any place to get a small number of these cards? (Used cards would be acceptable.) Or is there anything which might possibly be used as a replacement? While I know it's old technology, our department's networking budget has been spent for this academic year, so the 10BaseT replacement is going to have to wait awhile, and there are people who would like to connect up right now. Thanks in advance. Bill Kath kath@casbah.acns.nwu.edu Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics, Northwestern University
