Hi,

	Can someone on the net tell me what is tha maximum baud rate on the
standard IEEE 802.3 LAN ? Does the standard mention the type of encoding
used ?

Thanks in advance.

The transmission rate and encoding are 100% defined by the standard. The
data rate (you don't want "baud rate", that doesn't mean what you think
it does) is exactly 10 million bits per second for raw bits on the wire;
that rate is reduced slightly by packetizing overhead in practice. The
actual data rate that you can really achieve is often limited by hardware
and software bottlenecks on the transmitting and receiving machines.
