One of our guys in Europe has installed PC-NFS on PCs in his office, using a SPARCstation as a server, and is trying to use the Q&A database with it. The database file(s) are on the SPARC, and he finds when he accesses the files from more than one station they eventually get trashed, pointing to a file locking problem. The Q&A people that he's talked to indicate that they don't have any experience with PC-NFS, but it works well with NetWare (surprise). I don't know if Q&A uses NetWare specific locking or not, so I don't know if that's the problem. So, I guess the question is, what's the difference that's causing his problems? BTW, he also asked how to keep all drives through Z: from showing up (messes up Windows displays something fierce) in PC-NFS?
