My prospective employer has a leased line from WA to CA to carry 56k bps traffic. I've seen the announcement of UUNET's Alternet service, which would seem to be an option for them. Has anyone out in Netland made this switch? Did it work for you? Are there any other alternatives a company looking to do such a thing should know about? Thanks in advance for any insight. -- Mark McWiggins Integration Technologies, Inc. Depending on the nature of your traffic you might consider a Switched 56K service. If you need high speed file transfers but not a constant connection then it could be the ticket. In effect what Switched 56K service is is a special kind of modem that allows 56,000 bit per second connections. Sprint has it, AT&T has it, MCI say they do.
