[comp.dcom.lans] Patch Panels

I read a message about RJ-45's in and a 50-pin out.  Not having followed
this thread of messages, I may be confused, but:

AMP has a new patch panel (not in their catalogue) p/n 556905-1 that has
a 50 pin connector on the back, RJ-45's on the front, and is 10BASE-T
compatible.  That is, only 2 pairs are used for each RJ-45.  This number
is for a 48 port patch panel.

A 48 port patch panel has to have 4 50-pin connectors on the back, for
10baseT. Each 50-pin only connects 12 ports. (12 ports * 2 pair * 2 wires =
48 pins out of 50)
