We are currently running an Intel 86/330 chassis with Xenix on it as one of our systems. I've gotten the boss convinced it's time to do some upgrading, and I've run into a couple questions I'm hoping someone can give intelligent answers to... Our current configurations is 768k physical memory, 650k after kernel in single-user mode. One Priam 30meg 8" winchester, one 534 4-port serial i/o card, one Intel 88/45 intelligent i/o card. I want to up the disk space, and if possible, the memory. Have been looking at Epic Sales' deal for an Intel 220 SMD controller and the Fujitsu 80-meg SMD drive for $2800. Has anyone had any experience with this setup? Xenix claims to know about the controller already. Other suggestions would be appreciated. How much more memory can we stuff in the box, or are we already fully loaded. Inquiries to Intel result in a suggestion to upgrade to a 286-based machine. Someday maybe, but not today. We would be interested in reports from people who have made the 286 upgrade though. Mail to me, and I will summarize if it seems worthwhile.
