[comp.dcom.lans] experiences with NE-1000 and Ethercard Plus

tony@uhcmtg.phys.hawaii.edu (Antonio Querubin) (04/28/91)

I'm considering buying either an NE-1000 or an Ethercard Plus board for use
in an IBM PC and would appreciate hearing any comments, good or bad, about
these two ethernet boards. The PC will be running KA9Q with a packet driver.

I am especially interested in any 'quirks' either of the two boards may have
that I should consider. I have already been through a fairly frustrating
experience with the 3C501's inability to handle packets that follow each
other too closely and want to avoid this with the new board.

Please e-mail your comments if possible. Thanks!
