[comp.dcom.lans] Advice Needed to get Ethernet Card to Work in IBM/PS2-60 with NCSA Telnet

noring@netcom.COM (Jon Noring) (05/17/91)

Hello,

I recently inherited at work an IBM/PS2 Model 60. Along with this computer
came an ethernet card, a Western Digital EtherCard Plus/A, which is described
as an ethernet LAN adapter board for Micro Channel PCs. What we've been
trying to do the last few days is to hook this up to our thin wire ethernet
line using NCSA Telnet 2.3 (Beta version 15). In the NCSA Telnet we've
selected the WD8003A driver. Unfortunately, we have not been able to get it to
work - the NCSA Telnet says that it can't find the host and that it detects
the "network to be jammed, probable break in wire". We believe that our
ethernet line to be O.K. (we're going to recheck it later today). Unfortunately
nobody here has any experience with the particular harware and software.

Any help or advice?

Thanks,

Jon Noring
