[comp.dcom.lans] Netware TCP/IP

ercn55@castle.ed.ac.uk (P H Cleat) (05/16/91)

Has anyone used the TCP/IP stack in Netware v3.11 to communicate with
UNIX hosts, and if so did it work OK od were there any bugs with it ?

The systems consultants on campus are installing 3.11 in 2 departmental
LANS here which, ultimately, will be connected to our backbone. I haven't
gotten any details yet as to success or failure, but when (and if) I do, I'll
attempt to publish them. It will be interesting to see if the IP tunneling/
bridging features that Novell has advertised will work as promised.

Before I left the University of California, Irvine, I had a chance to
install a beta version of the TCP/IP tunneling software. In short,
it works like a champ, and the performance was indistinguishable
from native IPX performance.

The folks in San Jose (formerly Excelan) did an excellant job.
