I am posting this query for an associate who is looking for a printer with the following characteristics: must be downwardly compatible with one of the printers whose escape sequences are known by old versions of LOTUS (e.g., ibm proprinter or epson fx series) must be capable of at least 132 column printing (not necessarily on wide paper, however) should have an integral buffer of at least 8K and be able to accept input (serial or parallel, preferably the latter) at an equivalent speed of at least 2400 baud must have graphics capability with resolution at least as good as a Hercules graphics card screen; it would be useful if existing ibm software would know how to dump graphics on to it should have true descenders in at least one of the internal fonts should accept both single sheet and tractor paper < $600 I am particularly interested in hearing about good and bad experiences with repairs, engineering, and ordering. davidra@lasspvax.tn.cornell.edu
