[comp.periphs] wangco drives

aad@ANDREW.CMU.EDU (12/14/86)

i know someone who has a Wangco drive that
i suspect of being rl02-ish. he said that it's a
10 meg top loading drive, but he said that the
controller he has emulates n rk05's. Does anyone
know anything about this beast?

Yup!!! He's absolutely correct. The controller maps two (2) RK-05 drives
onto each platter. The drive most likely has 5 meg fixed, 5 removable.
I have a front loading version of the drive that worked the last time I
tried it (about 7 years ago). It is nothing at all like an rl0x.
