We're having some problems with a Model 43 Teletype which we have recently acquired, minus its manual. Now, I don't even know if it's RS232 - does anyone know how to tell? Also, the 'alarm' light seems to be permanentlty lit, no matter what we do - is there something we're not doing (like looping some pins on the interface) ? There was several reasons the alarm light would be on. But the one that was the most frequent was: - There is a switch under the cover which detects if the top is open. Most of the problem i had was with that switch. All is did was to put some tape over it. If there is a problem with the status on the RS232 interface the terminal will stay in local mode and not go online. ------------------------------------------- bob@njitsc1.njit.edu Bob Michie rutgers!andromeda!argus!njitsc1!bob Networking Specialist NJ Institute of Technology
