I'd like to hear from anyone who has used CDC Wren IIIs on Sun as
local storage. The specific disk I'm interested in is a Wren III,
182MB, ESDI. I have the following questions but I'd like to hear from
anyone about their experiences:
1. Will the Wren III work with Sun's software? In particular, can
I format it on the Sun?
2. If I can't format it, how hard is it to change their software
(we have a source lic.) and what needs to be changed?
3. Are their other CDC SCSIs that work in a Sun "as shipped"?
Any help and discussion on this topic will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

The specific disk I'm interested in is a Wren III, This is only sorta relevant: I have had a WREN on my system for 4 years and it has not had any problems... none! I do have a sun , but for implementation specific reasons it will assuredly not be like your environment. I do strongly recommend WREN series CDC drives. -alex p novickis -- UUCP: {ihnp4,ames,qantel,sun,seismo,amdahl,lll-crg,pyramid}!ptsfa!nonvon!apn {* Only those who attempt the absurd ... will achieve the impossible *} {* I think...
