I'm looking for information about character recognition. We (Zengrange) recently bought one of those HP ScanJet thingies and us through the back would like to use it to read in documents. To start with there is no documentation on the how the little devil works (standard HP marketing -- the customer won't need more than we provide, and support is so expensive...) but that's our battle, unless someone has tackled HP already :-> Next there are no books around on character recognition (except for some mention in general pattern recognition books).
