We are looking for a high-performance graphics engine that can display multiple colored object that can moving in real-time. We are considering the Megatek products as a lower-priced alternative to something like the Silicon Graphics IRIS. Does anyone know just how well Megatek is doing ? Will they still be around in 5 years ? How does their product stand up to the competition ? They can deliver a vector/display-list oriented 1024 X 1024 at 60hz non-interlaced color graphics engine with 2 1/2D (almost 3D) on-the-fly matrix transformations for about $20000. Thanks. I don't know how they are doing in the profit/loss column, but their employee turnover is high. They have new people each time I call. One East Coast service person quit after one week, leaving a single dude for the Mass. to Va. territory. Note: I no longer am at Swarthmore but my company has its head in the ground (no Net-access). And grafix folx in the company I now work for seem to think Evans & Sutherland is the cat's meow. But what do they know? -- Peter Greenberg, Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, PA 19081 AT&T:(215) 328-8384 or 8610 UUCP: ...{{seismo | inhp4}!bpa | {sun | rutgers}!liberty}!swatsun!greenber ARPA: swatsun!greenber@bpa.BELL-ATL.COM
