I am looking into getting a NEC LC890 Laserprinter for work and would appreciate any candid comments anyone has on the unit. It will be attached to a Novell Network at a spooled printer to be available for multiple users (and applications, from word processing to graphics). Primary reasons for its consideration are dual sheet bin (for first and second page letterhead), 3Meg of memory, both HP LaserJet+ emulation and Postscript, various ports, 35 built in fonts. (and only $3500). Has anyone used one? How well does it switch modes (can you go from HP+ to Postscript back to HP+ from software or do you have to throw a hardware dip switch or something). Does it have any 'quirks' that I should know ahead of time such as the paper bins needing to be babysat due to jamming/misfeeds? Any and all comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -- -----Jerry Fountain----- UUCP: {hplabs!hp-sdd,sdcsvax,nosc}!crash!pnet01!gof ARPA: crash!gof@nosc.mil MAIL: 523 Glen Oaks Dr., Alpine, Calif. 92001 INET: gof@pnet01.CTS.COM -- -----Jerry Fountain----- UUCP: {hplabs!hp-sdd,sdcsvax,nosc}!crash!pnet01!gof ARPA: crash!gof@nosc.mil MAIL: 523 Glen Oaks Dr., Alpine, Calif. 92001 INET: gof@pnet01.CTS.COM
