Does anyone out there have any experience with CMC's Transerver terminal server? It's a small box (2.3" x 5.0" x 9.0") with a 10 MHz 68010, 512k RAM, 128k ROM, and either 4 or 10 serial ports. The unit runc TCP/IP and supports both Telnet and rlogin. Each port can also have 4 separate terminal sessions. It comes standardly equipped with just a transceiver port, but an optional thin ethernet (BNC) port can be added for $150. The big thing in it's favor is price. It's about 20% cheaper than an Encore, and with educational discount the price per port is around $225. I'm just curious whether it performs as well as one. I hope you like typing internet addresses, it does not use a name server. Most reasonable terminal servers use at least an IEN116 terminal server. Nice ones use the Domain Name Server. -Ron
