[comp.periphs] Fuji 2344 disk drives?

david@elroy.Jpl.Nasa.Gov (David Robinson) (03/28/88)

Does anyone have any information about Fujitsu 2344 8" disk
drives. From the specs I have seen the are almost identical
in size to the 2361 super-eagles, have the same transfer
rates, and faster seek times.

Sounds very good, any comments?

I understand that they've been superceded by the Fujitsu 2372, which
is a similar drive with more cylinders. The 2372 was introduced at
a lower price, and the 2344 was reduced to match. The geometry is:

	model	2344	2372	2382
Cylinders 624 745 745
Data Heads 27 27 27
Bytes/track 40960 40960 49728
average seek	16ms	16ms	16ms
RPM 3600	3600	3620
