I'm about to finish writing a driver for the parallel part of the dmf-32 (This is for 4.2BSD on vaxen). (See my other posting where I'm asking for help doing DMA on a 750). The driver I'm starting from is the one distributed with BRL-Unix. It does full-time DMA on the serial ports, and has the LP driver. I have a driver written by chris@mddc (Is it Chris Maloney?) which does DMA adaptively and also preserves interrupt vector space for dmf emulators which don't have the parallel/synch ports. I'm going to be melding his code into the driver. (I'd run his driver under 4.2BSD for a few months without any problems) My code for the parallel port will come with all the information I have gained about how the device acts. I've used it in all it's modes for read, and in dr-11 mode for writes. With the documentation I'm planning on putting in, it will be a lot easier to use this device. I also have a DUP-11 driver and a need to use the synchronous ports on our system, so am planning on adding support for the synchronous ports. However if I run out of time I won't. Or, if someone has already written a driver for the synchronous port I'd like to see your code. Would anybody like to get this code? Especially, would UCB like to distribute this driver with 4.3? Let me know. -- --- David Herron --- ARPA-> ukma!david@ANL-MCS.ARPA --- UUCP-> {ucbvax, unmvax, boulder, oddjob}!anlams!ukma!david --- {ihnp4,decvax,ucbvax}!cbosgd!ukma!david
