I've been looking at the Exabyte tape drives for backing up my Sun server. (Backing up the new 892 Meg drives onto a 60 cartidge is no fun.) But I heard that Exabyte is working on a 1 Gig DAT drive, which will be cheaper and faster. Has anyone heard anything on this? Cheaper and faster is always nice, but there's another question at the back of my mind. Any chance of a standard evolving for either of the DAT or 8mm formats?
