I'm about to buy a 300+Mb drive for 386 PC. CompuAdd has the good price of $1700 for the Miniscribe 338Mb. However I've heard that this drive is unreliable. Any other reports or experiences or recommendations on similar drives that are reliable ? Please email responses. Thanks. Cheers, Dan Ts'o 212-570-7671 Dept. We've had good success with the Maxtor XT4380E disk drive. We have four of them. Make sure it's the XT with E suffix. An older model of the same drive numbered EXT4380 should be avoided! We had one and it was very flakey!! The XT4380E is the new one which is fine.
