I have an HP7221 plotter which was purchesed in good shape for the right price. Since the 7221 uses the rather old HP binary format I would like convert it to a 7220 which is hpgl. I know this has been done before by changing at least the ROM board. Does anyone know how this is done and the approximate price? How about a number and/or name at HP I can call? Part numbers? Any help will be sincerely appreciated. Thank you. Larry Pajakowski larry@tapa.UUCP 1-312-937-1153 weekdays.

There is a 4-ROM kit still available that will convert your 7221A/B/C/S from
"compact binary language" to HP-GL. This effectively makes it into a
7220A/C/T.
The kit is HP part number 07221-00020, and has a U.S.list price of $75.00.
Contact your local HP Sales Office.
