Has anyone out there hacked up a device driver for the DHU11 16 terminal board? I find myself with a brand spanking new 785 with a whole bunch of these things, and it turns out in retrospect that they aren't compatibile with a regular DH driver (DEC also knew this, but they assumed that our previous SA knew what he was doing, and he evidently assumed that a DH was a DH.) So I'm in a position with a brand new, almost unusable machine. DEC is snooping around for a driver, but isn't confident they'll find one (they suggested checking the net, as a matter of fact... sigh). If we can't find a driver, we'll be forced to run a swap of the DHU for DH boards, and we've been told that is a few weeks worth of delay. Any leads, pointers, suggestions, and especially drivers, would be MOST helpful! Thanks in advance... chuq -- Chuq Von Rospach nsc!chuqui@decwrl.ARPA {decwrl,hplabs,ihnp4}!nsc!chuqui Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!

I've just spent a few hours hacking the DH11 driver to pieces to make a DHU11 driver - 'cos I was in the same boat as Chuq:- new kit with no driver. Right now, it's had about 2 minutes of testing, doesn't cope with all the snazzy modem features, etc. etc. AND the machine on which the source exists isn't connected to the net ('cos there was no means of contact - DHU11s you understand!). I'll post the current source as soon as I can get it off, which will probably be towards the end of this week, or the beginning of next. -- Adrian Pell ({mcvax,edcaad}!ukc!reading!A.R.Pell) Computer Science Dept. A perfectly good DHU-11 driver is available from Berkeley. It will be included in 4.3 BSD. Give them a call and ask for the driver. They should give it to you if you are already a 4.2 site. Tim Tucker {ucbvax,decvax}!ihnp4!uiucdcs!ccvaxa!tucker
