[comp.periphs] Replacement Keyboard

jrn@csd4.csd.uwm.edu (James R. Norton) (04/10/90)

Hi everyone!

I have a question. I am hopefully going to be buying an Amiga 1000
without the keyboard.

Would anybody know where I could get a replacement keyboard for the
1000 (preferably mail-order)?

Any and all help would be appreciated...

P.S. Is the Amiga 1000 keyboard any different (electrically) than an
ordinary PC keyboard? Also, I don't read this group often, a reply
via mail would be greatly appreciated.

My roommate has a 2000 keyboard hooked up to his 1000. All you have to do is rig up a cable adaptor and you are set. The parts are all available at radioshack and you should be able to figure it out from the manuals.

I also am in need of info on adding a keyboard to an A1000 system. I've
heard that a simple adapter can be made for the A2000 kbd. Any info on this
or using a PC keyboard appreciated...
