Hi, I am looking to rack mount a mass storage system in an aircraft environment, connected to a sun server. My choices so far are: 1) Artecon's Removable data vault that can contain upto four 5 1/4 inch devices including hard disk and tape drive combinations. 2) MDB 2000, 3000 and 4000 series. I do not have much information about the MDB's except that they are a better choice for rack mounting. I would like to hear comments/opinions about the performance, reliability and ruggedness of the Artecon and the MDB. Also, 1) Are there any other vendors that manufacture mass storage systems that are rack mountable? 2) Are there any military versions of the above devices available ?
