We have been experiencing some serious problems with out Mutoh F-910A pen plotter, and would like to hear if somebody else has had the same experience. The plotter works fine with paper, however with polyester plotter film it is almost useless, because during the plotting process it slips and rotates the sheet resulting in lines which should be aligned are not, lines which join each other end to end dont match at all etc. We had this problem with our older Mutoh F-510 plotter, but only with the largest sheets (A0) and the thickest film (4 mil = 0.100 mm). However the new plotter, F-910 does this to all sizes and thicknesses of sheets, even to 3 mil (0.075 mm) A1 sheets. We have been experimenting with the sheet thickness and the cutting method. First we thought the reason was that the sheets were not completely square but now we cut all our sheets within the tolerances given by Mutoh, but nothing has changed. This is starting to get very frustrating, because the dealer says we have to get stronger springs, which must be sent from Japan, because noone else has experienced this kind of problem. This seems to take a long time and we dont believe that nobody else has not had this problem. The plotter has been almost useless for 3 months and we must do all our precision and high quality plotting out of house. Are these above explained problems known to other Mutoh plotter users and if so what measuers have been taken in order to avoid them? Has Mutoh been able or willing to come up with proper solutions ? Many thanks Asta
