Hi! I am looking for information about scanners to be used in a university environment. I assume most places use flatbeds for such applications. We are considering buying a scanner for general use next term, and I would like to have some opinions and experiences from the collective net.consciousness, so here's (yes! another!) net.survey. 1) Do you use scanners in your university/real world environment? 2) How heavily are they used and abused? 3) What is the brand of scanner you use? 4) How much did it cost? 5) What are some positive and negative aspects of the scanner? 6) What is the brand of software you use with the scanner? 7) How much did it cost? 8) What are some positive and negative aspects of the software? 9) What recommendations would you have for one who wants to purchase a scanner (and especially the caveats!), like hard disk space, different file formats, etc.? I know virtually nothing about scanners, so please don't hold back any information that may seem 'trivial,' since everything helps! Any and all answers will be greatly appreciated. If possible, please reply with only the number of the question and the answer.
