(As I understand it) the Maynard Python is the industrial version of the 
Maynstream 1300DAT  - no interface or software.  (I got this from Maynard.)

I just ordered one.  Should I be running to cancel?  I was somewhat impressed
by the Maynard design - computer quality instead of standard audio quality.
(But then again...)

I've heard salesmen say lots of things - I try no to get too excited.
(Yesterday, a Corel salesperson told me OS/2 couldn't handle color images yet.)
